Yazaki Romania has opened a new factory in Craiova supplying the auto industry with cabling systems. This factory will be the main provider for the Ford factory in Craiova but will also produce for other Ford units.

Jorge Damasceno, general director of Yazaki Romania said: “The extension of our production operations through the opening of the new factory in Caracal will allow us to continue a strategic partnership with Ford. Also, we will add more jobs to the 5,000 existing posts.”

Damasceno added, “The presence of Ford and Renault will make Romania more attractive for investors in related industries.”

The company has spent over EUR89m (US$120m) in Romania since 2003 when it opened its first factory in Ploiesti.
