Sales will start in Turkey and neighbouring regions. The Logan derivative on the B0 platform is already built and sold in South America.

European versions will have 1.4-litre 75hp and 1.6-litre petrol engines and a 1.5-litre diesel in 70hp and 85hp tunes.

Options will include Bosch 8.1 ABS with electronic brake force distribution and, for the first time in the Dacia range, emergency brake assist.

The Sandero will have a three year/100,000km (60,000-mile) warranty in most European markets.

Sandero production started in Pitesti at the end of October 2007 and the model shares the production line with the rest of the Dacia range. More than 70% of its components are common to the Logan.

Production began earlier at Curitiba in Brazil where the Sandero is built for Brazil and Argentina.

The model will become available in South Africa in 2009 and other markets are also being considered.
