New car registrations in Romania rose 18% in June over May but were down 6.5% year on year.
The interior ministry said 10,285 cars were registered last month. Renault subsidiary Dacia was top seller with 3,442 units, up on May’s 3,086 new cars.
Registrations of all vehicles, including commercial vehicles, trailers and special purpose vehicles, reached 12,250 units. This was up on May by 16%, but a fall of 7.7% year on year.
In 2009, new car registrations in Romania fell 59% to 116,012 units. Dacia’s sales halved last year to 41,862 units.
