Ford has spoken to the Romanian Government’s Ministry for Economy and Trade about a possible investment in state-owned carmaker Daewoo Automobile Romania.

Ford, General Motors and Renault–Nissan have all expressed an interest in the plant, which currently manufactures Daewoo models Matiz, Cielo and Nubira.
A Ford spokesperson told just-auto: “Eastern Europe is an area where economics are starting to grow and so we do look to expand there. We have talked to the government but that is all we can say.”
