Rolls-Royce yesterday secured two new multimillion-pound orders.
The contracts cover jet engines being bought by Solitair Corporation and power station contracts in West Africa.

Solitair Corporation has ordered Embraer regional jets worth an estimated $432m (£273m) which will be powered by Rolls-Royce engines.

Meanwhile Rolls-Royce Power Ventures Limited (RRPV) has been awarded a $100m (£63m) contract from Randgold Resources of Jersey to provide power for projects in their two gold mines in Mali.

The projects will see RRPV build and operate diesel power stations in the gold mines.
