Vakrangee plans to offer electric vehicle (EV) charging across India at its retail outlets.

It has 3,504 Nextgen Vakrangee Kendra shops in 19 states, 366 districts and 2,186 postal codes. Around two thirds are in Tier 5 and 6 cities.

The target is 75,000 chargers by fiscal year 2021-22 and 300,000 outlets by FY2024-25.

The outlets provide access to ATMs and some government services and are considered ideal for EV chargers.

The company suggested it could provide charging infrastructure for any company entering the Indian EV sector.

Chairman Dinesh Nandwana said: "We believe that the electric vehicle space is a huge growth opportunity for the coming years and we want to be future ready by developing a pan India footprint of EV charging infrastructure.
