Renault Group's Dacia car plant in Mioveni, Romania, will now produce only higher priced models along with the budget Logan which is the best-selling car in Romania.

According to romania-insider.com, the group decided the third generation Sandero would be produced exclusively in Morocco where other Dacia models already are built. The higher priced Sandero Stepway will continue to be produced in Mioveni.

This was the first time Renault shifted completely production of a model from Mioveni to its Moroccan plants in Tangier and Somaca, Ziarul Financiar noted.

Dacia started building the Lodgy and Dokker in Morocco in 2012, along with the Logan sedan, romania-insider.com said.

Later, the Sandero and Logan MCV were produced both in Morocco and in Romania.

The Romanian plant will continue to produce Duster models, which account for over 70% of the brand's sales, the Logan sedan, Logan MCV, and Sandero Stepway.

Volume of the cheaper Sandero has been declining steadily over the past two years.
