Renault has appointed François Renard as global marketing director, reporting to COO, Thierry Bolloré.

Renard will sit on the Groupe Renault Management Committee (CDR).

The new marketing director’s remit will be to strengthen brand awareness of the automaker’s brands, products and services and accelerate digital transformation.

Renard graduated from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques de Paris in 1990 and the HEC business school in 1992. He obtained a Masters in International Business at the Barcelona ESADE business school and the Bergen NHH school of economics.

His professional career began in 1992 as a consultant at Andersen Consulting/Accenture before moving to Unilever France as head of Europe product quality in 1994.

He then took on various national and regional marketing positions in Vietnam, China and Thailand where he managed a number of Unilever brands before being appointed Global Marketing Vice President for hair products.
