Volkswagen has got into a legal wrangle with its former Qatari distributor Saad Buzwair Automotive (SBA) over the cancellation of import licences.

SBA is demanding some EUR150m (US$193m) in damages for lost sales after the import licences for VW and Audi brand vehicles were given to a different company, according to German newspaper Die Welt.

VW said it terminated a 2007 agreement with SBA for the distribution of Audi cars after a contract for sales of its VW brand models expired.

Neither side commented on the ongoing dispute.
