Porsche sales worldwide rose 4% year on year to 256,255 vehicles in 2018.

Panamera sales grew the most at 38% to 38,443 units. The 911 volume was up 10% to 35,573 vehicles.

The Macan was top seller (86,031)  ahead of the Cayenne (71,458).

Growth in China, Porsche's largest market, rose 12% to 80,108 units. Next was the US, with an increase of 3% to 57,202 vehicles.

Deliveries in Europe fell.

"The switch to the new WLTP test cycle and gasoline particle filters in Europe mean that we faced significant challenges in the fourth quarter of 2018, and these will continue to be felt in the first half of 2019. On top of that, we stopped offering models with diesel engines in February 2018," Porsche said in a statement.
