Polish new car sales returned to a falling trend in July after a slight rise in June, as a flood of used cars from western Europe continued to cut demand for new models, car market monitoring agency Samar said on Tuesday, according to Reuters.

Poles bought 19,722 new cars in July, down nearly 11% from July last year and down 15% from June, according to the monthly report, the news agency said.
In the first seven months of the year, the number of new cars sold in the EU’s biggest newcomer reportedly stood at 149,178 units, down 30.6% from the same period last year.
Reuters said Skoda was the market leader, selling 17,099 cars in the January-July period, followed by Toyota, with 16,961, and Fiat was third, with 15,121 cars sold.
