The two millionth Fiat Panda has rolled off the line at the carmaker’s Polish plant in Tychy.

Launched in 2003 and marketed in 76 countries worldwide, the second series of the Fiat Panda is a platform on which the automaker has created an entire family of cars.

In the first six months of 2011, the Panda was claimed to be the car with the highest A segment sales both in Italy, with a 35.3% share, and in Europe (EU 27 + EFTA), with a 16.6% share.

Recently upgraded, the Panda range includes petrol and diesel Euro 5-compliant engines plus alternative fuel units (methane and LPG), as well as versions with front- or four-wheel drive, the latter with electronic locking differential in combination with ESP. There are numerous trim levels and 15 body colours.

The Tychy plant opened in 1992 and has produced 6.2m vehicles. The Panda last year celebrated its 30th anniversary and has sold over 6m worldwide, mostly in Europe.
