Lear, a seating and electrical systems supplier, has begun recruiting staff for a new plant to be opened near Legnica, according to local media reports. Lear already has three sites in Poland and is said to be interested in taking over a factory in Legnickie Pole, an industrial estate, which was built for Lenovo, the Chinese computer company.
Lear plans to spend nearly EUR20m (US$25m) developing the factory which has been idle for three years following the bankruptcy of PLA Development which constructed the hall for Lenovo, daily Puls Biznesu reported.

The newspaper said several hundreds jobs would be created at the plant. Negotiations are continuing with the administrator of PLA Development.
