Mitsubishi Motors Philippines (MMPC) will start production at its new 21.4-hectare manufacturing plant in Sta.Rosa, Laguna on 29 January.

The plant, bought from Ford early last year, can manufacture 50,000 units per year and, depending on the models being assembled, capacity can be doubled to 100,000 units, pinoyinspirations.com reported.

Mitsubishi aims to increase sales in the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand to 390,000 vehicles by 2016 from 270,000 in 2013.
