Audi has raised its sales forecast for 2006 by 10,000 units, thanks to strong demand for new models such as the Q7 luxury SUV, according to Reuters.

Audi is now forecasting that sales should rise by 7.1-7.2% to 890,000 units this year.

A further growth spurt is expected this year thanks to the new TT coupe and the Q7, according to Ralph Weyler, Audi’s head of sales and marketing.

Audi is premiering the new R8 supercar in Paris today. With deliveries due to start early in 2007, annual production is targeted at 3,000-5,000 units.
