Volkswagen’s premium brand Audi expects to sell over 300,000 cars a year in China as early as 2012, at the latest in 2013.
Audi plans to expand its production capacity in China, the world’s fastest-growing major car market, with joint-venture partner China’s FAW Group in the medium term, the company told Reuters at the Paris show.
Audi’s overall car sales were significantly higher in the first nine months than the record levels of 2008, bolstered by double-digit percentage growth in September, sales chief Peter Schwarzenbauer said.
“We are very satisfied,” chief executive Rupert Stadler said in Paris.
