The Zatec tyre plant became operational in 2019, and a second phase of expansion increased its annual production capacity to around 11 million units. The new fully automated warehouse, covering an area of 7,100 sq m and with a height of 51 m, is equipped with advanced logistics technologies, including fully automated inbound and outbound handling systems and product tracking using RFID, making “full-process management from production and storage to shipment more efficient while also improving accuracy.”
The new warehouse has increased tyre storage capacity at the site by around 57%, from 530,000 units to 830,000 units, improving the company’s ability to respond to seasonal demand fluctuations in the region, increasing reliability and reducing delivery times, which it expects will help increase overall customer satisfaction.
The company pointed out that the importance of supply chain resilience and operational flexibility continues to grow, adding that its “warehouse expansion does more than just increase storage capacity. It is a strategic investment that will strengthen our integrated production and logistics capabilities. By continuously enhancing the operational capabilities of our European plant, we will improve the trust of customers and further accelerate our growth in the European market.”
