Tesla Motors is establishing a European distribution centre in Tilburg, The Netherlands which will be a Model S final assembly facility, vehicle distribution hub and regional service centre.

Production of the European specification (left hand drive) version is planned to begin in March 2013.

Tesla said the 18,900 sq m facility is centrally located “to enable efficient, timely and cost effective operations throughout Europe”.

From this month, the distribution centre will begin stocking parts for the Roadster and Model S.

The facility will also be used for vehicle importing, final assembly and distribution, service headquarters, technical training, parts remanufacturing and collision repair.

Around 50 jobs will eventually be created.
