NedCar workers voted in favour of strike action on Wednesday, according to auto motor und sport magazine.
Expatica News said that a meeting organised by the FNV and CNV unions, agreed to a one-day strike on Friday to pressure Mitsubishi, the owner of the factory, to guarantee the jobs of the 3,000 employees.
Talks have been taking place between the management of Mitsubishi and the management of NedCar, but they have failed to result in a firm commitment to continue production of the Mitsubishi Colt at the plant or build a second model to replace the Smart ForFour.
