Mexico’s car production fell 13.3% in May to 145, 530 units from 167,817 units in the year-ago month, Dow Jones reported, citing figures from the Mexican Auto Industry Association, or AMIA.

Sales and exports reportedly also fell during the month, pointing to continued weakness in demand both domestically and abroad.

According to Dow Jones, AMIA said domestic sales were 10.2% lower than in the year-ago month at 72,023 units, compared with 80,206 in May 2002. Exports fell 4.0% to 113,162 vehicles from 117,917 a year-ago.
