Fiat will take over its own sales operation in Mexico from the end of June, according to AutoData.

For the last two and a half years Fiat sales in Mexico were administered by GM.

According to the report, the company now has headquarters in Monterey, and this new sales operation will import vehicles through a consortium called SKBC.

That is an alliance between the Mexican company Automotores Mundiais and SKBergé, the Chilean/Spanish automobile importer and distributor in Chile, Peru, and Argentina.

Fiat is planning to sell 4,000 cars this year, through a network of 10 dealers.
