Maruti Suzuki India (MSIL) says it will, with the cooperation of all employees, advance the regular bi-annual maintenance closure of its plants, originally scheduled from 27 June to 2 July, to 6 June to 11 June.
This will enable the closure period to be used for arranging component supply, both from M/s Subros as well as from other sources and result in higher production volumes after the closure.
Manufacture of cars, to the extent of component availability, is continuing at the Gurgaon plant.
Earlier this week, MSIL said it resumed manufacture of vehicles at its Gurgaon facilities from the second half of yesterday (1 June).
Certain operations in the Manesar campus, including casting and manufacture of transmissions, also restarted on Wednesday.
The company had to suspend operations at its facilities on 30 May, owing to a fire at the Manesar facilities of its supplier, M/s Subros.
