Malaysia’s Proton reported a 76.4% year-on-year fall in net profits to MYR 15.55 million (USD 5.1 million) in the second quarter of the current fiscal year, to September 30th.
The expenditure is to help fund the long term expansion plans of its UK-based subsidiary, Lotus Group.
Revenues rose by just over 1% to MYR 2.26 billion, helped by an improved product mix – with higher Exora and Inspira sales.
