Malaysia’s Oriental Holdings Bhd. said on Tuesday its unit Oriental-Hyundai Sdn. Bhd. has signed an agreement to assemble and distribute the Hyundai Accent model in Malaysia this year, Dow Jones reported.


The agreement signed on Tuesday with South Korea’s Hyundai Motor is for the 1.3- and 1.5-litre models, the report said.


According to Dow Jones, Oriental-Hyundai expects to launch the models in Malaysia in the fourth quarter of 2003 and aims to sell 15,000 units in 2004.
