Malaysia’s DRB-HICOM has agreed to assemble and distribute niche cars supplied by Potenza Sports Car Ltd of the UK, including its hybrid and electric models. Potenza is the parent company of sports car manufacturers Westfield and GTM.
DRB-HICOM group managing director, Datuk Seri Mohd Kamil Jamil, said his company will explore opportunities to market the cars across the Asia-Pacific region. The Malaysian company is also keen to become a development partner on new vehicle projects and source components locally to reduce costs, helped by Malaysian government incentives.

Julian Turner, managing director of Westfield Sports Cars Ltd, said Potenza group sales could increase fivefold over the next three year as a result of this agreement, from around 400 units last year.
