Geely-owned Lotus says its all-electric hypercar – project code Type 130 – will be revealed in London on 16th July.
A maximum of just 130 examples will be available to own, with first customer deliveries to commence in 2020. Production of the Type 130 has also been confirmed for Lotus HQ in Hethel, Norfolk.
Lotus says that following first confirmation of the project in April at the Shanghai International Auto Show, several hundred potential owners have come forward to express their interest in the new car.
The brand also says the Type 130 will be the most dynamically accomplished road car in the company’s history. The ‘130’ number reflects the fact that it is the 130th in a long line of Lotus ‘Type’ series.
The car is being co-developed by Lotus and Williams Advanced Engineering. Expected to be powered by two motors, the limited edition model is expected to command a very high price.
