Kia Corporation this week unveiled its new Tasman pickup truck at the Jeddah International Motor Show in Saudi Arabia, as the South Korean automaker continued its efforts to diversify its product lineup. The global launch follows a campaign of teaser images released to the world media over the past several months.
The model is scheduled to go on sale in global markets in 2025, marking Hyundai Motor Group’s first entry into the one-ton pickup truck segment—a market currently dominated by Japanese firms such as Toyota, Mitsubishi, and Isuzu. Chinese automakers have also recently stepped up their efforts to expand into this segment.

The Kia Tasman pickup truck features a bold, square body design, distinguishing it from other products in this segment as the automaker looks targets both business and leisure users. It comes equipped with “advanced chassis and suspension technology,” which the company says combines exceptional off-road capabilities with class-leading on-road refinement. It also features Advanced Driver Assistance Systems with trailer profile functionality.
The Tasman is available in three main variants: a basic four-door double cab model and the double-cab X-Line and X-Pro AWD models—fitted with all-terrain tires and higher ground clearance for improved off-road performance. The Tasman range is offered with a choice of a 2.5L 281PS turbocharged petrol engine, coupled with an eight-speed automatic gearbox, and a 2.2L 210PS diesel engine – available with either an eight-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox.
