Southern California-based automaker [nee Fisker] Karma Automotive has launched its Moreno Valley-based 'hub' rebranded as the Karma Innovation and Customization Center (KICC).
The facility will house production of the company's 2020 Revero luxury electric vehicle and, it said, "provide the ultimate in customisation, craftsmanship and technology integration".
The automaker also unveiled a pre-sold, one-off limited edition Revero as an example of the kind of collectible customized vehicles it's preparing to offer.
The Moreno Valley base, opened in 2015, comprises a body shop, general assembly, paint shop, final process alignment and dynamic test stations covering 556,000 square feet. The facility has cost about $100m to date.
The automaker is based in Irvine and has its Detroit Technology Center in Troy, Michigan and Design & Engineering Center in Hangzhou, China.
KICC currently produces the 2019 Revero and preparing to produce its next-generation 2020 model scheduled for dealer showrooms during the second half of this year.
