Kandi Technologies Group has held a groundbreaking ceremony at the Haikou production facility at Haikou Mei’An Hi-tech Zone in China.
When completed the Haikou plant is expected to have an annual capacity of 100,000 electric vehicles. The ceremony marks the beginning of Haikou Hi-tech Zone’s first project in the Chinese government’s 13th Five-Year Plan.
“Kandi’s EV business is a perfect fit for Haikou’s low-carbon manufacturing industry, and will be a strong addition to Haikou’s traditional auto industry chain,” said deputy mayor, Ju Lei.
“The geographic location and ecological protection of Hainan Island makes it an ideal place to promote the adoption of electric vehicles. I believe Kandi’s production facility will bring positive impact on the local economy and be an example for further development in the region.”
“We expect the Hi-tech Zone will continue to provide convenience and offer the necessary assistance to ensure the smooth and timely construction of the facility.”
