Toyota Motor will recall over 73,000 minivans across nine models and over 3,000 ambulances due to defective front propeller shafts or brake boosters, the company said on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.

The 73,081 minivans for recall, including Granvia, Grand Hiace, and Hiace Regius models, were manufactured between September 1995 and October 2005, Toyota reportedly said in a statement.

Insufficient heat proofing of the front propeller shaft meant the vehicles could be damaged at high speeds, Toyota said.
The company will also recall 3,167 ambulances over possible brake problems, according to the statement.

It wasn’t immediately clear whether the recalls affected vehicles sold outside Japan, the news agency noted.
