Toyota may export the Belta, a new subcompact sedan due for launch in Japan next month but has made no decision yet on overseas markets or timing.

Toyota president Katsuaki Watanabe told The Associated Press (AP) that the company is considering exporting the Belta as global consumers are becoming more conscious of environment-friendly and fuel-efficient cars.

The Belta (the name means “beauty” in Italian) is Toyota’s smallest sedan and comes in two- and four-wheel-drive models – the launch monthly sales target is 3,000 units.
