Toyota Motor SUV specialist SUV assembly unit Toyota Auto Body has revised its group pretax estimate for fiscal 2008/9 up from the preciously projected JPY3.5bn loss to a JPY600m profit after numerous cost cutting measures.

The cost cuts included a reduction in the workforce and the company is now projecting a net loss of JPY1.1bn, up from the earlier estimate of JPY2.5bn.
The Kariya, Aichi Prefecture-based manufacturer kept sales projections for the business year unchanged at the 1.65 trillion announced on 3 February, Kyodo News said.
