The plant will start production in 2007 – producing 100,000 vehicles a year and employing about 2,000 people – reported the Associate Press news agency. It will build Toyota’s Hilux pick up trucks.
The new facility, located in Chachoengsao province of southeast Bangkok, will boost the Japanese automaker’s total production capacity in Thailand to 550,000 units a year.
