Toyota will recall about 111,000 Liteace and Townace vehicles due to a defect in a transmission part, Honda and its Thai unit will recall about 4,800 vehicles from five model lines, including the Fit [Jazz] small car, and Mazda will recall some 400 RX7 and Infini RX7 cars, Kyodo News reported.

The vehicles subject to Toyota’s recall – Liteace and Townace small trucks and the 4WD car versions of the two models – were produced between May 1993 and June 1999, according to a report filed by the automaker with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.

Subject to Honda’s recall are those manufactured between June 2003 and October of that year which have a transmission defect. The cars to be recalled by Mazda were produced in January 1996 and have a defect in a metal fitting locking the bonnet [hood].
