Takata, the manufacturer of the malfunctioning airbags that have forced four Japanese automakers to recall millions of vehicles globally, said it will book an annual extraordinary loss of JPY30bn (US$307m) to 31 March 2013 due to costs associated with the recall.
Japanese carmakers announced last week they were recalling 3.4m vehicles sold around the world because airbags supplied by Takata were at risk of catching fire or injuring passengers.
