Suzuki Motor on Thursday issued two separate recalls in Japan for a combined 357,974 units of its minivehicle models, Reuters reported.
The top Japanese maker of 660cc minivehicles said one of the recalls covered three models with defective ignition switches, including the “Every” and the “Scrum Wagon” supplied to Mazda and built between December 1998 and November 2000, according to the report.
Twelve incidents of fires breaking out have been reported in connection with these faulty parts, though there have been no serious injuries, it told the news agency.
The other recall regards its “WagonR” and two other models, produced between November 2000 and December 2005 with faulty accelerator cables.
According to Reuters, Suzuki declined to disclose the estimated cost of the recalls.
