Toyota sales dropped 56.6% to 48,733 units while Honda volume fell 34.5% to 21,294 vehicles. Nissan Motor sales declined 16.1% to 28,037 units.
Sales of minivehicles fell 25.4% year on year to 95,210 units, declining for the eighth month in a row, the Japan Mini Vehicles Association said.
Suzuki minivehicle sales dropped 28.5% while Daihatsu volume was off 25.7%, the industry group said.
