Mitsubishi Motors said all three of its Japanese vehicle assembly plants -Okazaki, Mizushima and Pajero Manufacturing Company (PMC) operated on Monday (28 March) and Tuesday (29 March) but production at PMC was suspended today (30 March).
All three plants will be running on Thursday (31 March).
Honda is to produce daily production levels at its US and Canadian plants from Wednesday (30 March) due to Japanese parts supply problems.
On Tuesday it told workers it would begin “temporary adjustments that will reduce daily production levels” from Wednesday which would “vary from plant to plant based on parts availability”.
“Honda is making every effort to keep plants operating without extensive interruptions,” a statement added.
Nissan Motor said on Wednesday that the output suspension since the ‘quake and tsunami would cut car production by 55,000 units as of the end of March, Reuters reported.
