The establishment of the joint venture was part of the agreement signed in December, 2010 to expand the scope of cooperation between the two companies.

Junichi Endo, currently senior vice president of Nissan, will be appointed as CEO while Shinichi Kurihara, currently senior executive officer of Mitsubishi Motors, will be appointed as COO.
