First-month
sales of Toyota’s new Brevis luxury model reached 5,000 in June, double the 2,500
monthly target.

About 40 percent of Brevis buyers are trading in similar sedans and about half
are in their 60s. Metallic silver is the most popular colour (45 percent) and
the 2.5-litre engine is taking 60 percent of sales.

Meanwhile, Honda received orders for 23,000 new Fit (Jazz) models in the first
10 days the model was on sale. That’s about triple the monthly sales target.

The Fit is proving very popular with young women due to its spacious cabin,
good fuel economy and flexible seat layout, Honda officials said.
