The recently launched new Mazda Demio (known as as the 2 overseas) has attracted about 15,000 orders in Japan since its introduction, more than doubling its first full month target of 7,000 units.


The Casual version is proving the most popular, followed by the Sport and Cozy. In particular, the Sport has generated more orders than originally planned. As for body colours, customers are especially attracted to Sunlight Silver for the Casual and Sport models and Honey Yellow for the Cozy.


Around 30% of Cozy buyers have chosen the electronically controlled white canvas top available as an option.


Mazda says the Demio is attracting new customers from single men, single women, and young family groups.
