Nissan Motor reckons there are now more electric car charging points in Japan than there are petrol stations.
According to Bloomberg News, the number of power points in Japan, including fast-chargers and those in homes, has surged to 40,000 compared with 34,000 service stations.
“An important element of the continued [EV] market growth is the development of the charging infrastructure,” Nissan CFO Joseph Peter told analysts.
Bloomberg said one criticism of Nissan’s tallly is that many of those charging sites are in private garages.
