Of the US$600m that Mitsubishi Motors plans to invest for the construction of a new plant in Indonesia, $250m will go towards the development of an eight-seat MPV.
Citing Reuters, Paultan.org said the new model is expected to be a lower-segment MPV.
The company plans to manufacture 80,000 units a year with 20,000 exported to nearby countries like Thailand and the Philippines.
