Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. is planning to enter Russia and three central Asian markets this year, according to a Nikkei report.

The report says that the firm is targeting annual sales of about 1,000 trucks in these markets and that Mitsubishi Fuso will utilise the sales network of Kamaz.

The Canter model is likely to be supplied to Kamaz, which is 10% owned by Daimler AG, Mitsubishi Fuso’s parent.

In Central Asia, Mitsubishi Fuso will provide parts and outsource production to Turkish partner Temsa Global to sell trucks with loading capacities between 3.5 tons and 7.5 tons in Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Georgia, Nikkei reported.

The report added that Mitsubishi Fuso has been stepping up its drive to develop emerging markets, entering seven Eastern European countries last year, including Hungary and Bulgaria.
