The Japanese government has ordered Mitsubishi Fuso Truck & Bus Corp. to improve its recall practices, criticising the firm for sending no notices or delaying notices to customers on vehicle recalls, officials told Kyodo News on Thursday.
All automakers in Japan are required to send recall notices to vehicle owners within one month of reporting a recall to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
But Mitsubishi Fuso sent no notices, or substantially delayed them, to two transportation companies over seven truck recalls between May and December last year, ministry officials reportedly said.
