Truck maker Isuzu Motors will start a planned venture with China’s Shanghai Automotive Co. as early as next month to build large trucks, according to a report in the Detroit News.

The report cited Japanese newspaper as saying that Shanghai Automotive will own 60% of the venture, while Isuzu and General Motors will hold 20% each.

Isuzu, 12% owned by GM, and GM may raise their combined stake to 50% later, the Detroit News added.
