Honda plans to sell a hybrid version of the Fit (Jazz)] in Japan with a small price premium, according to Reuters.

The news agency said a Fit hybrid would sell for around JPY1.4m (US$11,790), which would be just JPY200,000 more than the petrol version.

AJapanese newspaper had noted that this would make it the world’s first hybrid to cost less than JPY2m.

Honda currently sells hybrid versions of the Civic and Accord for an extra JPY300,000 or so.
