Honda Motor has said its China vehicle sales rose 11.7% in 2008 to 473,297 units.
That represents a slowing from 2007’s 31% gain.
Sales in December fell 5% to 41,851 units, Honda said in a statement.
GM sold 1.09 million vehicles in the country last year, up 6.1%.
Guangzhou Honda, the Japanese automaker’s joint venture with Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., parent of Hong Kong-listed Denway Motors, sold 306,183 cars, up 3.7%.
