Led by high demand for the Impreza and other new models, Subaru’s overseas vehicle sales rose 20.1% fiscal year on year to 561,000 units with notable growth in the US and China.

In Japan, though passenger car sales increased, a minicar sales decline saw domestic sales drop 5.3% to 163,000 units.

Total global vehicle sales rose 13.2% to 724,000 units with revenue up 26.1% to JPY1,913bn.

FHI said it set record for vehicle sales, revenue, operating income, ordinary income and net income.

For fiscal 2013/4, global vehicle sales are projected to reach 752,000 units led by further growth in North America and other export markets.

FHI forecast revenue of JPY2,050bn, operating income of JPY180bn, ordinary income of JPY175bn and net income of JPY110bn yen – another record-breaking year ahead of 2012/3.
