Production of cars, trucks and buses in Japan rose for a third straight month in August, as Toyota and Honda boosted output to meet strong domestic demand, an industry group said on Wednesday.

Auto production in Japan rose 2.5% in August from the same month a year earlier to 699,338 vehicles, the Japan Automobile Manufacturers’ Association told the Associated Press.
Domestic vehicle demand in August totalled 362,698 vehicles, up 2.3% from a year earlier, while the nation’s exports of cars, trucks and buses rose 3.8% on year in August to 352,312 vehicles, it reportedly said.
